Connect Instagram: share your insights without sending screenshots
Brands want to know whether your numbers are real – so they ask for screenshots of your insights. When you connect your channel, the numbers are pulled directly from the platform, and your profile carries the “verified numbers” badge.
Why brands ask for your stats
A follower count alone tells a brand little. They want to know how many people actually see your posts, how many engage and where your audience comes from. That’s why many brands ask for screenshots of your insights before a collaboration. That’s tedious for you and unreliable for the brand, because screenshots go out of date fast and can be edited. Numbers that come straight from the platform solve both problems: you no longer have to dig anything up, and the brand doesn’t have to just take your word for it. Wherever you do collaborations, honest, current numbers are one of the strongest arguments you have.
Which channels you can connect
On creatordeal you can connect Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. For Instagram you need a professional account, meaning a business or creator account; a personal account doesn’t share any insights. You switch that yourself in the Instagram app under account settings. For YouTube you sign in with the Google account your channel belongs to, and for TikTok with your TikTok account. You can add other platforms to your profile as a channel; their numbers then count as self-reported. That’s not a drawback as long as you stay honest – they just don’t get the badge.
What gets read when you connect – and what doesn’t
The connection is strictly read-only. creatordeal can’t upload, change or delete anything. What gets read is your account name and ID, followers or subscribers and metrics for your posts, such as views, likes, comments and shares. For Instagram and YouTube, insights from recent weeks are added; for TikTok, the numbers of your most recently published videos. Before you confirm, the creator area shows you exactly what will be read. The platform also asks you itself which permissions you grant – leave all the boxes checked, otherwise the insights can’t be retrieved.
How to connect your channel on creatordeal
In the creator area you first add your channel, with platform and username. Next to it you’ll see the button to connect, such as “Connect with Instagram.” You’re redirected to the platform’s login, confirm access there and come back. If several accounts are linked to your login, pick the one that belongs to your profile. After that, the numbers are pulled regularly and replace the values you had entered yourself. As soon as the first retrieval succeeds, your channel carries the “verified numbers” badge with the date of the data.
The “verified numbers” badge and what brands see
On your profile and your bio page, brands see your reach, engagement rate and other metrics per channel. For connected channels, “verified numbers” appears next to them – a sign that the numbers come from the platform itself and weren’t typed in by you. The badge depends on regular successful retrievals. If the connection expires, after a password change for example, your most recently pulled numbers stay up but count as self-reported again until you reconnect. That keeps the badge an honest statement about current numbers rather than a stamp handed out once.
Disconnecting and revoking access to your data
You can disconnect at any time in the creator area. creatordeal then deletes your access keys and, where the platform allows it, revokes the permission there too. For Instagram, also remove the entry in the app under connected apps and websites. Your most recently pulled numbers stay on your profile but count as self-reported again, and the badge goes away. So you stay in control: connecting is voluntary, reversible at any time and only allows reading the metrics that matter to brands.
